Lone Fig Environmental is a local Shoalhaven Business that specialises in weed and feral animal control throughout the Shoalhaven, Illawarra and Southern Highlands.
We have been operating in one form or another since early 2016. Our clientele base includes a mixture of small private lots, to large rural farms, National Parks Conservation areas and business estates.
Because our team has decades of combined bush regeneration experience and a wealth of professional qualifications, we are able to provide the highest quality services optimised to each specific site.
Several members of our team also volunteer at Bangalee Reserve on the Shoalhaven River. This is done as part of Shoalhaven Council's Bushcare Program and is entirely separate to Lone Fig. The volunteer website has lots of information and can be found here www.bangaleebushcare.org.
PLEASE NOTE: LONE FIG ENVIRONMENTAL (ABN: 86 527 956 375) IS OPERATED BY LEONARD WHITE AND IS COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT OF ANY OTHER ORGANISATION
Focus - Spring 2023
As we enter what looks to be another drought, we are seeing some stress on the bushland areas we look after. Control of tobacco and other annual weeds is nearly complete early in the season. We planted over 2000 trees this winter and have been busy keeping them watered and weeded. So far only an average of 3% have succombed to the conditions.
Moving into summer, we will be focusing work of maintaining areas cleared over winter and keeping areas clear of fuel for potential fires. The shadehouse nursery is going well with well over 1000 seeds planted and germinating.
Feral animal activity was high over the winter months, particularly deer. We took Chital, Sambar and Reds in large numbers as well as a few Sambar/Rusa hybrids. Very few foxes or rabbits out this year so far but that will probably change as summer warms up.
Documentation - Visual and Written
Our policy is that we provide the most effective services for the best rates.
All our work is documented with photographs, videos and reports. We also provide detailed site assessments, risk assessments and management plans upon request.
Here are some old videos from our volunteer website that demonstrate the level of recording and monitorring.
